All Dental Practices are businesses as well as professions. We have running costs that include;
Rates, Water, Gas, Electricity, Staff Wages, Stationary, Materials, Equipment, Servicing, Accountancy Fees and
 the upkeep of the building.

We also have a number of hidden costs. To make the Practice a safe place for you and the staff, we have the sterilisation costs of our instruments and equipment, and our waste materials and chemicals must be disposed of safely to protect the environment.

To provide you with safe, up to date Dental treatment, we must comply with regulations.

We aim to provide high quality dentistry in a modern well-equipped Dental Practice with all due regard to quality and regulations. 

All  treatment is carried out in a relaxed, un-hurried environment where the patient can feel relaxed and confident that they are being offered the best advice and treatment.

The Practice is predominantly private, though we still treat young children, students and some previously registered patients on the NHS.

Many of our patients enjoy the benefit of treatment under a capitation scheme and have the knowledge that they do not face any large dental bills. Others still prefer to attend on a fee-paying basis.

With the great changes facing the dental profession and large corporate companies like Boots and Specsavers entering the market we recommend that patients consider joining a capitation scheme of their choice. Such a scheme can be tailored to an individuals requirements and dental health.

The practice records are fully computerised which greatly increases the efficiency of the practice

Company History

The Practice was founded in 1917 by Mr. Philipson Spence who practiced until 1958. Many patients remember him as a big man with large hands and a jovial disposition. He practiced until 1958 and was suceeded by Mr. Keith Ward. The current principal is Ryszard W. Jurowski who bought the practice in 1984.

There have been many changes over the years and in 1999 a new waiting room and surgery were installed. The surgery is very modern and complies with all the latest regulations and recommendations
